Mentally Health in the Workplace

The veterinary practice environment can be a minefield of mental health hazards. Challenges include long hours, difficult clients, vicarious trauma and handling interpersonal issues.

Join Rosie Overfield for an evidence-based practical workshop to build your skills and strategies for developing a mentally-healthy practice. This one day workshop will help you to:

  • Understand the WHS legislation as it relates to mental health hazards and work related stress
  • Develop a mentally-healthy workplace strategy and program
  • Act quickly to support and manage mental health problems
  • Draw upon mental health first aid and HR principles to handle mental health conversations

All participants will receive a kit that includes a 12 month workplace wellness plan, mental health first aid resources and a practical guide for managing mental health at work.

Rosie Overfield

Acknowledged as a trusted workplace advisor, Rosie provides HR and workplace wellness consultancy and coaching services to both individuals and organisations. She regularly speaks and trains across Australia and New Zealand in areas such as leadership, resiliency, emotional intelligence, communication and workplace wellness design. Rosie is also the Australian Veterinary Association’s Mental Health First Aid instructor and is a qualified counsellor, with a Bachelor of Communication and a Master of Human Resources and Organisational Development.
